Bloodworks NW is seeking laboratory Supervisors to play a crucial role in the integration and supervision of day-to-day activities and staff at two Transfusion Service Laboratories based at Seattle area Swedish hospitals.

For over 70 years, Bloodworks NW has provided a safe, reliable community blood supply across Western Washington, living our mission of "saving lives through research, innovation, education and excellence in blood, medical and laboratory services in partnership with our community." We are in need of a strong supervisor to assist our centralized transfusion service laboratory model into Swedish hospitals to enhance patient safety by reducing turnaround times of blood products to Swedish patients, while maintaining the highest level of transfusion expertise available to their staff and patients.

The Transfusion Service Supervisor will be responsible for: Supervising frontline laboratory staff, providing leadership and technical expertise; developing teamwork and coaching for performance and development; performing regular laboratory bench testing and component preparation; promoting a strong culture of excellence, customer service, and partnership between BWNW and Swedish staff and physicians; serving as a liaison to hospital meetings related to Transfusion Medicine; and assuring quality and regulatory standards are met.

Requirements include: Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution OR Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological science and 1 year of laboratory experience in high complexity testing OR minimum of 2 years of current testing experience in the Bloodworks NW Transfusion Service. Current MLS (ASCP), BB (ASCP), SBB (ASCP) or equivalent certification is required or certification within 6 months of hire date. Demonstrated leadership experience is preferred.

This full-time, exempt-level positions position will work generally 2nd and 3rd shifts hours Monday through Friday and will be based at the Cherry Hill (Seattle) and Issaquah Swedish labs.
