Transfusion Services Laboratory

We are currently seeking Medical Laboratory Technologists I to work in the Transfusion Service Laboratory located at our central Seattle lab. Responsibilities include: conducting compatibility testing on blood and blood components according to Standard Operating Procedures, receiving and processing orders for patient transfusion, and performing a wide variety of detailed laboratory tasks including complex secondary processing procedures on blood components (e.g. irradiation, thawing, pooling, etc.).
Requirements include: Bachelor of Science degree in clinical laboratory science or other biological science or equivalent; education must meet CMS/CLIA qualification requirements to perform high complexity testing (60 semester hours which include 24 hours of science including 6 hours of chemistry, 6 hours of biology, and 12 hours of courses in chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology). MLS (ASCP), MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification and prior laboratory experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated familiarity with computers and keyboarding skills for performing order entry, and the ability to see red, green, blue and yellow are required. We are also looking for excellent customer service skills and the ability to prioritize and reprioritize, handling tight deadlines, stressful situations and emergency requests.

Job #mc1006 - The schedule after training is expected to be Tuesday - Saturday 8 hour 3rd shift.
Flexible schedules are required, having the ability to regularly work weekends, holidays and on-call as scheduled. Training may take place on 1st or 2nd shifts.
