Bloodwork's Hemophilia Program is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant to join our team supporting patients with blood disorders. The primary responsibilities for this position are performing administrative and clinical procedures under direct supervision of a licensed health care provider of the Hemophilia Treatment Center. This includes greeting patients, preparing patients for examination, obtaining vital signs and recording patient information into an electronic health record, performing phlebotomy, and specimen collection/processing for clinic and research visits. The incumbent will also assist with preparing and maintaining examination and treatment rooms.
Requirements for this position include:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School education or GED equivalent.
Credentialed as a Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist in WA.
Two years of college preferred. Science emphasis a plus.
Two years of work experience in a health care setting, preferably clinic, with direct patient contact.
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS:
Excellent internal/external customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Outlook
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to exhibit flexibility in work schedule.
Ability to fulfill Washington State Health Care Assistant Certification (category A at a minimum) requirements.
8-10 hours per week.
Ability to work on Wednesdays and have availability from 7:30am- 5pm.
Work includes direct exposure to blood borne pathogens.
This is a minimal-time, non-exempt position based at our Central location in Seattle's First Hill Neighborhood. Salary range is (28): $14.76- $18.45- $22.14; DOE, DOQ
