Platelet Donation Is Powerful.
With a shelf life of only 5-7 days, platelets are in constant need year-round for cancer treatments, organ and bone marrow transplants, traumatic injuries, and open heart surgery. Thankfully, platelets can be donated as often as every 7 days and up to 24 times a year. The impact of your donations throughout the year gives patients the power they need!

Quarter 2: April 1 – June 30, 2024
Quarter 1: January 1 – March 31, 2024
Do I need to do anything to sign-up?
Yes! Please fill out the Opt-In Form to enroll in the Power Platelets program to earn rewards. If you opted-in to the program in 2023, then you are automatically Opted In for 2024 and don’t need to submit a form again.
How do I earn points?
One platelet donation equals one point. Donate on Double Point days for twice the points. Points are awarded for registering to donate and not actual units donated.
When are Double Point Days?
Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday are double point days!
Do I still earn a point if I am deferred at the time of my donation?
An attempted donation will count as a point. If you make the effort to donate, you still earn a point even if you are deferred!
How many points do I need to earn a reward?
For every five points within a quarter, you will receive an email with a code to redeem Bloodworks gear or make a donation.
When will I be emailed my reward code?
Once you reach your 5 points, you will receive an email the following Monday*.
Example: If you donate on a Tuesday and reach your 5 points, you will receive an email the following Monday with your code.
*If Monday is a holiday you will receive your email on Tuesday.
Can I earn more than one reward in a quarter?
Yes! Every 5 points earns you a reward.
What are the dates for Program Quarters?
Power Platelets is divided into four separate program quarters throughout the year. The rewards will change with each quarter.
Quarter 1: January 1 – March 31
Quarter 2: April 1 – June 30
Quarter 3: July 1 – September 30
Quarter 4: October 1 – December 31
Do my points expire? Can I carry over points to the next quarter?
Points do not carry over between quarters. Points may only be redeemed for the prizes during that quarter.
Example: If I get five points during January 1 – March 31, 2023, the reward code will only be redeemable for those rewards. Codes will not be redeemable for the rewards for the following quarters.
How long do I have to redeem?
Reward codes must be redeemed within 45 days of receiving the reward code.
Pro Tip: All items are available “while supplies last”, so make sure you redeem for the rewards of your choice!
What happens if reward items run out?
While gift cards are no longer offered as part of the Power Platelets rewards program, platelet donors will be able to earn them throughout the year during special promotions. Be on the look-out for details to be sent via email.
