Whole Blood

This is the quickest and most common way to donate blood. The process generally takes less than an hour. After the whole blood is collected, it is processed into 3 components: Red cells, platelets, and plasma. Hence the saying; "saving 3 lives with one donation." Learn More

Platelets are blood cells that help control bleeding and are frequently transfused for cancer patients, transplants, open heart surgery, and traumatic injuries. Platelets have a shelf life of only 5 days so there is a continuous high demand for platelets from O+, A+, B+, and AB+ donors. This process takes approximately 70 minutes to 2 hours. Learn More

Plasma is the fluid portion of blood that transports red blood cells, white cell, and platelets throughout the body. It is frequently needed for trauma patients, burn victims, and those fighting serious illness and injury. There is a continuous high demand for plasma from AB+ and AB- donors who are the universal donors for plasma. The process generally takes less than 90 min. Learn More

Double Red Cells

Red cells deliver oxygen to organs and tissue. Donating double red cells means your one donation can help 2 people. Red Cells are frequently used for surgery, organ transplants, cancer treatment, and people with life-threatening conditions. There is a continuous high demand for red cells from O-, A-, B-, and AB- donors. The process takes approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours. Learn More
