Meet the Current YPA Members

Back row, left to right:

  • Katie Drewel (Chair) works as a senior policy associate at a government affairs and public relations firm in Bellevue. She spends her free time following politics, perfecting her mac and cheese recipe, and following Husky sports.
  • Brie Sullivan works in Clinical Research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. She loves where she works because they do cool science, and because they’re right across the street from kayaking rental on Lake Union.
  • Alyssa Schoonover is a Business Banking Relationship Manager for Washington Federal.  She graduated from Washington State University (Go Cougs!) with a degree in Economics Finance.  Outside the office Alyssa loves spending time with family and friends; and enjoys spontaneous adventures, country music, spending time outdoors and exploring Woodinville’s wine country.
  • Daniel Vargas brings his 13+ years of marketing experience working for Tech and Consumer Package Goods companies. He is a passionate soccer player/aficionado that enjoys travelling, trying new restaurants and a good action movie.
  • Amber Larkin works as a Project Coordinator at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Amber can be found hanging out with her family and –of course– watching the Seahawks.
  • Ashley Kelmore is the Response Planning Manager with Public Health – Seattle and King County. She spends one Saturday a month serving as co-leader of her five-year-old niece’s Campfire group.
  • Erin Arya brings experience as a health policy and communications consultant to YPA. She enjoys golfing, trying new recipes and any excuse to pirouette.

  • Liz Marzec works as a Registered Nurse at Virginia Mason Hospital, and came to deeply appreciate the services that BloodWorks NW provides during her time caring for patients who require blood products. Her favorite things in life are drinking coffee, dancing at any opportunity, and snuggling her puppy.
  • Christine Goodwin is a Project Architect at Nicholson Kovalchick Architects. In her spare time she enjoys reading, hiking, sketching, and watching University of Kansas basketball.
  • In addition to serving as the liaison to YPA, Sarah Steinberg is an Individual Giving Officer in BloodworksNW’s Development department and oversees the Heritage Society. Fairly new to the area, in her spare time she enjoys traveling and enjoying what Seattle has to offer.
  • Kim Zerbe (Vice Chair) works in financial operations at T-Mobile. In her spare time she enjoys trying different cuisines, weekend getaways around Washington, and spending time with her Shiba Inus.
  • Shannon Thomas works as a Product Compliance Specialist for Univar, a chemical distributor. She spends her free time coaching for the Special Olympics and gardening.
  • Lisa Mikesell is a poverty and living wage researcher at the University of Washington. In her spare time she enjoys baking, hiking, and perusing photos of baby animals.
  • Phill Ramey works as a Customer Success Manager at Seattle-based tech startup Azuqua. Outside of work he enjoys exploring Seattle’s breakfast and bar spots, playing drums, and spending time with pals.
  • Camber Grant: Camber is a Merchandise Planner for Ben Bridge Jeweler. He also enjoys volunteering and working at events around the Pacific Northwest. In his spare time he brews beer and wine, works on his house, and plays with his pet bunny Leeloo.

Not Pictured

  • Kristin Marks is a Marketing Manager for a software development agency in downtown Seattle. In her spare time, you can find Kristin hiking, working on her latest arts and crafts project, listening to the latest podcast and following Husky and Seahawks football.
  • Lindsey Greto works on chronic disease prevention for Public Health – Seattle & King County and is an alum of the Evans School at UW. She is originally from Boulder, Colorado, but has called Seattle home since 1998.
  • Kate Ormbrek is an Assistant Site Merchandiser for Nordstrom. In her spare time, she is busy chasing a 1.5 year old toddler around, loves to cook and travel, and watch the Huskies and Seahawks on the weekends.
