Test Information Assay is based on the principle of hemagglutination, in which the specific antibody incorporated in the gel will react with its corresponding antigen on red blood cells resulting in red blood cell agglutination.
Sample Requirements Whole blood–red cells and plasma (ACD, EDTA, sodium citrate, heparin, oxalate). Clotted samples are acceptable.
Requested Volume 6 mL
Minimum Volume or Pediatric volume 1 mL
Sample Information Sample must be refrigerated within 24 hours of draw.
Shipping Information Clotted samples or sample in ACD are acceptable at 2-8°C for 5 days.
Samples in EDTA or sodium citrate are acceptable at 2-8°C for 14 days.
Samples in heparin or oxalate are acceptable at 2-8°C for 2 days.
