What do I need to know?

In less than an hour you can save three lives. It takes 800 donors a day to maintain a stable blood supply for nearly 100 Northwest hospitals. Bloodworks has 12 donor centers and multiple mobile blood drives each week.

What should I expect the first time I donate?
Donating is safe and simple. It takes an hour from questionnaire to cookies. Actual donation time is about 10 minutes for one pint of blood. We recommend eating a healthy meal and staying extra hydrated before donating. After donation, you’ll hang out and enjoy juice and snacks, and then be on your way. Remember to bring your photo ID.

Am I eligible to donate?
Most people in general good health can donate, but some restrictions may temporarily or permanently prevent you from donating blood. If you have a specific question regarding your eligibility to donate blood and would like to discuss it with someone, you can call 800-398-7888 or email [email protected].

How do I find my blood type?
Your blood type will appear in your app profile within 48 hours following your first donation.
