News & Events
January 10 – December 31, 2020
With a shelf life of only 5 days, there is a constant need for platelets year-round. Platelets are needed by many patients and medical procedures like; cancer treatments, organ or bone marrow transplants, victims of traumatic injuries, and patients undergoing open heart surgery. Thankfully, platelets can be given every 7 days and up to 24 times a year.
How does it work?
Every time you donate platelets you will receive one punch. Donate on Double Punch Days to receive two punches. Collect 5 punches within a trimester and you will receive an email with a promo code for premium Bloodworks gear!
What’s new with Trimester 2?
- DOUBLE PUNCH DAYS are now every Sunday and Wednesday!
Prizes for Trimester 2 (May 1st – August 31st):
*Due to the impact of Covid-19 business closures, delivery of platelet power prizes will be delayed until June. We will still send you your code to redeem after your fifth punch so that you can pick out your prize and have it delivered as soon as available. Thank you for your patience.
To ensure a safe, controlled environment for our donors and staff, we’ve implemented increased social distancing measures including using our Donor Centers only for collections, making donations are by appointment only, and prohibiting children under 16 for the time being. These changes have decreased the number of overall appointments – we appreciate your patience and will be increasing availability as needs and capacity grow.
