Amy Constance has found friendship through a Blood Collection Specialist talking about everything from cats, and painting, to the importance of donating blood. With over 200 donations, Amy gives platelets every couple of weeks to save lives in our community. Each platelet donation helps 2-3 patients. Amy has saved over 600 lives by donating blood and will continue to be 1 of the 1,000 donors a day it takes to keep our blood supply stable.

"Volunteering as the employee newsletter coordinator has given me a way to be involved in such a great cause at a time when I’ve been unable to donate blood myself. I love how broad and diverse the spectrum of experiences are in the Bloodworks community, and how open and accepting everyone I’ve come across has been!
My favorite part of volunteering is when we feature articles centering on the experiences of minority staff and community members. Focusing on the intersection between those experiences and blood donation, research, and medical treatment allows us to share important ideas with Bloodworks staff, and together, work on developing solutions to specific problems that staff and the wider Bloodworks community face."
