Indications Confirmatory testing of cadaveric samples found to be reactive by an STS screening assay.
Method Trinity Biotech CAPTIA Syphilis (T. pallidum)-G
Test Information Assay is an enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative detection of IgG antibodies to T. pallidum in serum specimens.
Sample Requirements Serum or Plasma (EDTA, citrate based anticoagulants).  Plasma is acceptable for screening tests, only.
Requested Volume 6 mL
Minimum Volume or Pediatric volume 0.5 mL
Shipping Information Serum:  Samples are acceptable at 2-8°C for 5 days; after 5 days, serum should be removed from the red cells and frozen at -20 °C or lower.
Plasma:  Samples are acceptable at 2-8°C for 48 hours.
