Method Flow Cytometry using microparticles (“beads”) coated with recombinant or soluble HLA antigens
Test Information Purposes of this test are 1) to determine antibody specificities in patients awaiting transplantation; 2) to determine if there are antibodies to HLA antigens of potential donors;  3) to quantify antibodies to HLA antigens in patients who are candidates for antibody-reduction therapies
Sample Requirements Clotted blood or Serum
Requested Volume One 7-10 ml tube of clotted blood (red top) or 1 ml serum
Minimum Volume or Pediatric volume 2ml clotted blood
Shipping Information Send sample at ambient temperature; must be received in lab within 10 days of blood draw
