HLA/Immunogenetics Laboratory Profiles
Periodic HLA Antibody Screening of Candidates for Transplant from Deceased Donors
Patients awaiting kidney and/or pancreas deceased donor transplantation periodically submit samples to the HLA/Immunogenetics Laboratory so that their HLA antibody levels (PRA) can be monitored. The samples are usually drawn at dialysis centers or at home, and sent to the HLA/Immunogenetics Laboratory in shipping containers provided by the laboratory.
