VWF Collagen Binding

Profile or Test Panel
Bleeding Diathesis with a Normal aPTT/PT Profile
VWD Profile
If the aPTT is prolonged and the factor VIII is normal, this panel reflexes to an aPTT Reflexive Evaluation Profile.
Indications Requires VW Activity by Ristocetin Cofactor, VW Antigen and FVIII levels to interpret results
Method ELISA
Test Information VWF collagen binding performed to see if patient had a VWF functional variant affecting collagen binding. VWF collagen binding activity usually parallels Ristocetin cofactor activity, however there are uncommon variants with isolated defects in collagen binding. Note: VWF collagen binding results should be considered for research use only.
Additional Test Information Normal ranges are included on testing report and can be made available upon request.
